Castle-site - Libice nad Cidlinou (Nymbursko)

Castle-site in Libice nad Cidlinou was the central seat of the powerful Slavník dynasty. It was built in the 10th century on the confluence of the Rivers Elbe and Cidlina. In 995 the Slavník dynasty was murdered by the Přemyslids and the castle was destructed. In the last century extensive archeological research has been carried out on the area of the castle site and the contours of the main buildings have been reconstructed.
