Castle Svojanov (Žďár nad Sázavou a Žďáské vrchy)

Castle Svojanov is situated 16 km from Polička. It was built in 1265 by king Přemysl Otakar II. to protect the Trstenice routes. Today's building was built in 1842 in the empire style. Since 1993 the Svojanov Cultural Summer festival and the Puppeteers Pilgrimage have been held here. There is also the permanent exhibition of ceramics by Jan Kutálek.
