In the early 10th century in Stará Boleslav stood the Chapel of St. Cosma and Damian. In 929 or 935 prince Wenceslas was murdered in front of the chapel. In the 11th century Břetislav I founded a church in the place where the chapel was situated. The church was torn down in the 12th century and in its place a three-aisled Romanesque basilica was built. In the Vráby chapel there is a scene of Prince Wenceslas assassination, coming from Braun?s workshop from 1740. Another feature is a set of paintings from Wenceslas? life by J. V. Spitzer from 1742.
