The ancient citizen's houses forming the town center were built in the periods of late Gothic and Renaissance. Protruding from their ranks is the late Gothic town hall with a tower. A remarkable Renaissance edifice is the castle gate decorated by relieves - the only section of the original castle, which survived the fire. A new, late Renaissance chateau with arcades was built in its place. Local religious monuments feature the Gothic-Renaissance Church of the Virgin Mary and the Gothic Cemetery Church of the Holy Cross with sheltered staircase.
