Peat Bog Borkovická Blata (Borkovice Marshland) and Lookout Tower - Soběslav (Táborsko)

The peat bog Borkovická Blata (Borkovice Marshland) lies near the village Borkovice, 5 km south-west of the town Soběslav. The main field of the peat bog is bordered with the line among the villages Borkovice, Mažice, Zálší, Klečaty and Komárov. In 1980 there was founded the 5.5 km long instructive trail there. It has 31 stops with informative notices. There is a lot of information about habits and traditions of this region, peat mining and about flora typical of peat bogs.
The wooden lookout tower is a part of a nature trail passing through Borkovická blata. The tower is open to public but it is a bit hidden in the maze of fascine footpaths.
