In 1920 a lover of art Josef Portman invited his friend the painter, graphic artist, writer and mystic Josef Váchal to decorate the ceilings and walls of his house. The paintings are very complicated - there are numbers of devils, sprites and ghosts, together with classical themes from Christian iconography and other oriental sources. Today there is the Museum of Josef Váchal in the building.
