A glassblowers' settlement is situated in the middle of woods of Jizerské hory. It existed for more than one hundred years. It was founded in 1775 and ceased to exist in 1882 after leaving of the last offspring of glassblower family Riedl. Its ultimate end came with great fire in 1887. The settlement had its own cemetery, school and tavern. The fire left behind only a manor (which perished in 1938), gamekeeper's lodge and a tavern - called "Fox Cabin" - currently the Museum of Glasswork and Nature of Jizerské hory. Over a wooden model you can imagine former life of this independent settlement.
