The castle is situated in town Ostroh, 5 km from Františkovy Lázně. The first written record dates back to 1322, although it is possible that the original Romanesque castle was built already in the 12th century.

Today you can see there the collections representing the development of interior and furniture design in the 19th century, baroque and rococo inlaid furniture, and also the history of porcelain and the contemporary production of Karlovarský porcelán a.s.
