The church of st. Nicholas was originally built at the beginning of the 13th century as a three-aisled Roman basilica. Other parts were added at the Gothic phase of construction. After a fire in 1742, the towers were fixed with Baroque domes. The last modifications were carried out in 1864. In 1945 the roofing of the towers was destroyed.
